Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: 11 October 2026

These Terms apply to the Tipper app, the website at get-tipper.app, and any hardware you buy from us (together, “Tipper”). Tipper is provided by Tipper App Pty Ltd (ABN 56 674 073 502), 3/1 Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads QLD 4567 (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, using the app or buying hardware, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Tipper.

Who can use Tipper

To create a Tipper account you must be at least 18 and able to hold a Square account.

Performers under 18 may use Tipper through an account held by their parent or guardian. In that case the parent or guardian agrees to these Terms and is responsible for the account, the connected Square account and how Tipper is used.

Your Square account

Tipper takes payments through Square. To use Tipper you need your own Square account. Square’s terms apply between you and Square. Square processes each payment, holds funds and pays you out on your Square payout schedule. We aren’t responsible for Square’s service, including any holds, reversals or payout delays.

Fees

The Tipper fee. Tipper charges 10% of each tip taken through the Tipper app. This 10% includes Square’s card processing fee. You receive the remaining 90% in your Square account. For example, on a $10.00 tip you receive $9.00. Square’s processing fee is set by Square under your Square account. If your Square account carries a different processing rate, any difference is a matter between you and Square.

How it’s deducted. The fee is deducted automatically from each tip when the payment is taken, through Tipper’s connection to your Square account. You don’t receive a separate bill.

No other fees. There are no subscriptions, sign-up fees, monthly fees or cancellation fees for using the Tipper app. Hardware is optional and sold separately.

Refunds and disputes. You can refund a tip from your own Square account. If a tip is refunded, or a payment dispute is decided against you, Tipper’s fee is not returned. Disputes are handled by Square under Square’s terms.

GST. Our fee includes GST. If you need a tax invoice or a fee statement, email support@get-tipper.app.

Changes to fees. We may change our fees. If we do, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app before the change takes effect. A change won’t apply to tips taken before it takes effect. If you keep using Tipper after the change, the new fee applies. You can stop using Tipper at any time, at no cost.

Hardware sales

What we sell. The Tipper hardware kit is made up of:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ Wi-Fi 128GB;

  • Bosstab Elite Evo X Floor Stand; and

  • Square Reader & bracket.

Ordering. Orders are placed and paid for through Square’s online checkout. Your order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation. If an item is unavailable, or there is an obvious error in a price or description, we may cancel your order and refund you in full. Your payment details are handled by Square. We don’t receive your full card number.

Price. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. The kit’s regular price is A$999. An introductory price of A$799 applies to the first 100 kits sold. The price that applies is the one shown at checkout when you place your order.

Shipping. Shipping is free within Australia. We currently ship to Australian addresses only. Items are shipped directly from our suppliers using standard Australian carriers, so they may arrive separately. Delivery typically takes 5–10 business days. These are estimates, not guarantees. If we expect a significant delay, we’ll let you know, and you can cancel for a full refund if your order hasn’t shipped.

Delivery, risk and ownership. The goods are your responsibility once they’re delivered to the address you gave us. You own the goods once we’ve received payment in full. If anything arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as you can, with photos if possible.

Setup. The tablet is supplied in its standard factory state and is not preconfigured. You’re responsible for assembling the stand, setting up the tablet (including any Google or Samsung account), installing the Tipper app from Google Play, connecting your Square account and pairing the Square Reader. Our email support is there to help. No stand can prevent all theft or damage.

Returns. We don’t offer refunds for change of mind. This doesn’t affect your rights for faulty goods, set out below.

Faulty or damaged goods. If something you bought from us is faulty, isn’t as described, or arrived damaged, contact us at support@get-tipper.app with your order number and a description (photos help). Depending on the problem, we’ll arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where goods are faulty, we’ll cover reasonable return shipping costs. You don’t need the original packaging. Any reasonable proof of purchase is enough.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Manufacturer’s warranty. Each item also comes with its manufacturer’s warranty. You can claim under a manufacturer’s warranty directly with the manufacturer, or contact us and we’ll help. Manufacturer’s warranties are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, not instead of them.

Your responsibilities

You’re responsible for keeping your account and device secure, for complying with local busking permits and rules where you perform, and for your own tax obligations on tips you receive. You must use Tipper in line with our Acceptable Use Policy.

Using the app and website

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Tipper app to take tips for your performances while you have an account. We (or our licensors) keep ownership of the app, the website and the Tipper brand. Please don’t copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or website, or remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from them.

Availability and liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Apart from those rights, we provide the Tipper app and website on an “as available” basis. We work to keep Tipper running reliably, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, including when it depends on Square, Google, your device or your internet connection.

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost tips, income or profit, arising from your use of Tipper or from Tipper or Square being unavailable. Where our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee can lawfully be limited, it is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again, or for goods, repairing or replacing them or paying the cost of doing so.

Accuracy of materials

The information on our website is general. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but it may sometimes contain errors or be out of date. We may change it at any time.

Links

Our website and app may link to other sites and services, such as Square and Google Play. We’re not responsible for their content or practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Ending your use of Tipper

You can stop using Tipper and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. Where reasonable, we’ll tell you first. Fees on tips already taken still apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Fee changes are covered under “Fees”. If you keep using Tipper after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. You can stop using Tipper at any time.

Severance

If any part of these Terms is found to be void or unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest of the Terms continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and courts that can hear appeals from them.
